How it works
This calculator subtracts all your committed hours from the 168 hours in a week. It shows you a breakdown of where your time goes and how much is truly free. Most students are surprised to find they have less free time than they think — or more, once they account for everything. The percentage breakdown helps you spot imbalances and make intentional choices about how you spend your time.
FAQ
How much free time should I have? There is no single right answer, but 10–20 hours of free time per week is healthy for most students. Less than 10 hours leads to burnout; more than 40 may mean you are under-committed.
What counts as “other” commitments? Anything that takes time: work, clubs, socializing, family obligations, hobbies, and even scrolling social media. Be honest — it all counts.
How do I get more free time? Look for activities that serve double duty (exercise with friends, commute while listening to lectures), batch similar tasks, and protect your free time as fiercely as your study time.
